It is with heavy heart that these words find shape here. I lamented on several fronts, and despite my contempt for public airings of laundry ultimately decided that a calculated risk was the lesser of two evils.
Contrary to your recent pronouncements your presence in my life has not and does not diminish me, my life is richer because you’ve been in it; yet you know me well enough to understand that I will not wait for naught.
I shall borrow from our friend Robertson here: “You are certainly unique. Everyone is unique. Nobody has ever suffered quite like you before because nobody has ever been you before. But we are members of the human race as well, and our unique quality has limits.”
I will concede that understanding and experiencing are not interchangeable – though would suggest that we are simply two sides if the same coin.
At once our greatest asset yet most fatal flaw is the wondrous ability to rationalize anything, and that is what I hope to prevent here – Don’t convince yourself of a lie because it’s easy. Know that you are everything that I have ever wanted in a partner, in a man.
